Truck Rentals

The Arctic Chalet can offer you rental vehicles at the most economical rate available in Inuvik.  

Our vehicles are older but well-maintained by our mechanic.  Windshields are often cracked or somewhat damaged due to the gravel roads in our area such as the Dempster Highway and the Inuvik Tuktoyaktuk Highway.  

If you would like us to drive you to Tuk please inquire. We run tours to Tuk and they include information about the pingos, a tour of the hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk, a visit to the ocean and a toe dipping/swimming  certificate.  A cultural side tour may also be available with a traditional lunch, but is only available in conjunction with the full day tour that we offer.

Airport Shuttles to the rental office at the Arctic Chalet are available at a reduced rate of $35 for 1 person.  $10 per person for additional people.  Please give us your time of arrival when you book the vehicle and call us from the airport once you have landed.  Call the office 867.777.3535 or if you have Judi's cell phone you can call that number for airport shuttles only.

Our answering machine (not in a public area) is confidential so you can leave this information there. 

Please note that your reservation will not be guaranteed until you receive an email from us confirming we have received all of the above information.   Call to extend a reservation .

Office is closed on Saturdays, but cars can be dropped off after a rental anytime, even on Saturday.  Airport shuttles  are available Sunday through Friday, but are not  available on Saturdays.  If you can't get through to the office or on Judi's cell when you call upon arrival at the airport please take a taxi to the Arctic Chalet office.  

Rental vehicles must be picked up and dropped off at the Arctic Chalet office at 25 Carn street

AFTER HOURS:  If you require a vehicle after hours or early in the morning Sunday to Friday an extra call-out fee of $20 will be charged.  Vehicles can be dropped off anytime without a fee.  

OFFICE HOURS:  

Sunday to Thursday 10 am to 6 pm.

Friday 10 am to 4 pm   Closed Saturdays

CANCELLATION is 48 hours for daily rentals or 5 days for weekly.  We need two weeks notice for longer rentals.
