Check into your cabin & get a trip to town for grocery shopping
Tuesday:
Driving tour to the Arctic Ocean and explore the hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk. Includes a short drive on the Mackenzie River ice road!
Wednesday:
Morning Dog sled tour
Snowmobile trip after lunch to the Arctic Loon Cabin for dinner and an overnight stay
Thursday:
Pancake breakfast
Scenic Snowshoe tour in the morning (15 minutes or up to 1 hour)
Relax in the cabin looking at a nice collection of Northern Books
Snowmobile back to the Arctic Chalet after lunch
Friday:
10:30am Today you check out and we will take you to the airport
11 :50am Fly back to Whitehorse arriving at 2:45pm
Note: We can add on extra days to this package that would include accommodations & Saturday as a free day in Inuvik with a courtesy car, Sunday as a day to explore the Dempster Highway & Monday as another dog sledding day. Customize your tour package to suit your interests. We are flexible!

Sunday
7:15 am Fly from Whitehorse to Inuvik arriving in Inuvik at 10:30 am
Airport welcome and shuttle to the Arctic Chalet
Check into your cabin where you will stay for the next 5 nights.
We will give you a quick tour of the town followed by a stop at the grocery store to stock up on some groceries that you can prepare in your cabin’s kitchen.
Monday
Join us at 8 am for a tour of the kennels to meet our very friendly white huskies and help out with some chores. At 11am you will get an introduction to dogsledding that includes a briefing on how to safely drive a team of huskies. Then learn how to harness your team of huskies up to the sled that you will be driving. Following your indoor briefing and watching the video on how to drive a dog team , you will go out with a team together with our staff for a half-day outing with the dogs that includes a campfire picnic lunch.
Tuesday
This morning you will have some time to walk and play with some of the dogs. After lunch we will get ready to travel by dog team for about 2.5-3 hours to the secluded Arctic Loon Cabin where you can spend a cozy comfortable night in the cabin off the grid. As soon as we arrive, you can help us put the dogs onto the stake-out chain and place some straw under each dog. Once the dogs are looked after we will serve you a full hot dinner and you can relax by the wood stove. This evening, if there’s a clear sky, we will go outside to look for the Aurora in this quiet place away from all light pollution. Guests can stay up as late as they wish to look for signs of an Aurora display.
Wednesday
We will offer you a pancake breakfast after you sleep in a bit and you can then go snowshoeing with Judi and her magnificent husky,Yannik. You will get a light lunch at the cabin before leaving for the trip back to the Arctic Chalet either by snowmobile or by dog team (it’s your choice).
Thursday
Today is your day to go for a guided drive on the Inuvik Tuk Highway all the way to Tuktoyaktuk and the Arctic Ocean! In Tuk we will go to the home of an Inuit family for a traditional lunch and for a short ride on the Arctic Ocean with their dog team if weather permits.
Friday
10:30am Today you check out and we will take you to the airport
11 :50am Fly back to Whitehorse arriving at 2:45pm


Flights from Whitehorse are included.
Meals are not included at the Arctic Chalet or on the tour to Tuk, but your cabin will have a kitchen/kitchenette where you can prepare breakfast & lunches and cook your own food. We will take you to the grocery store whenever you like. - Judi and Olav are vegetarian and will serve you some delicious vegetarians meals out at the Loon cabin and around the campfire on your half-day dog sled tour.- Let us know if you have any food allergies.- We do not include Saturday activities in any of our tour packages. If our itinerary does not fit your plans we can try to customize a package that will fit your schedule and make your Arctic dreams come true.
If circumstances that are out of our control prevent you from taking part in an activity that is part of your itinerary we will try to substitute another activity for you to enjoy. Otherwise we will not be refunding any portion of the package that you paid for. We highly recommend that you get travel insurance.
Pay a deposit when you book your package and the balance owing 30 days ahead of your tour date. Deposit is 50% refundable up to 30 days ahead of your tour date . The package price that is paid 30 days ahead is not refundable if you decide to cancel within the 30 day period. If you have any major travel issues that prevent you from coming to Inuvik or If circumstances that are out of our control prevent you from taking part in an activity that is part of your itinerary we will try to substitute another activity for you to enjoy. Otherwise we will not be able to refund any portion of the package that you paid for. We highly recommend that you get travel insurance.
